Data privacy information
This notice details what information we collect from you, where we store it and for how long, who we might share it with and what we do with it. It should be read and signed by you at the same time you sign your counselling contract.
Controller’s name: Jacqueline Craine
Information to be gathered will be used to get in touch with yourself, or your emergency contact or GP should the need arise.
I will not share your data with any other party other than in exceptions to confidentiality stated in the counselling contract.
Storage:
I will store personal data in a locked cabinet, separate from the notes I keep on our sessions, which will be anonymised.
Telephone numbers, email addresses and personal data stored on the counsellor’s mobile phone and laptop will be password protected and only used by myself to communicate with you the client.
How long will information be stored:
As a member of the BACP I am required to keep all data and records for a minimum of 3 years from our final session at the end of which all hard copies of data and notes will be shredded.
This is in accordance with the ICO (Information commissions office).
